Sadly many do not want to let go of their addiction since they are afraid to surrender all to the Lord and let go. I do not know your social setting or environment so all I can do is share a few things with you.

First of all claim all the truths that Almighty God’s Word has for you.

http://www.theignorantfishermen.com/2010/02/going-for-gold-for-god-glory.html

Secondly ask our Heavenly Father to make your addiction and dependency to stink in your nose and that the very thought of it or partaking in it will make you sick to your stomach. This is how God delivered me from my post Christian life. Remember Romans. 7. This chapter is very liberating. Other verses… 2 Cor. 10:5, Phil. 4:8

http://www.theignorantfishermen.com/2009/08/they-sold-their-souls-to-rock-and-roll.html

Thirdly separate yourself from all appearances of evil; music, TV, Internet and all that feeds your addiction and replace those with the Word of God, Godly people, godly music, good fellowship etc. Remember 1 John 1:9. That truth is there for us every day.

And finally, God truly wants to help you. By faith let go and trust God with it. Sounds simple enough I know but you have to do your part as well.

God speed!!

Phil. 4:13

DavidThe Ignorant Fishermenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05673973129940277983noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-734817143510679440.post-581726125858003232012-07-27T23:21:12.552-04:002012-07-27T23:21:12.552-04:00I'm in so much conflict because I repent and k...I'm in so much conflict because I repent and know God loves me and Christ died for me yet I'm stuck in an insane addiction that I am so ashamed about and have struggled with for 22 years. I know I'm forgiven by His grace and that I'm not condemned, yet feel condemned and cannot get through a day without returning to the addiction, which is destroying me. It's the knowing of Truth yet still turning to this substance instead of God that is the worst, in addition to the physical, mental & social consequences of my addictive behavior. This list reminds me of the things that are still true even though I am saved and that I don't know how to get past it, and am so ashamed I can't even describe it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
