Fear not: you are of more value than many sparrows

"Think of what thou knowest and hast proved of My ways, and believe that what thou dost not know is at least as loving as what thou knowest and hast proved."

The Base World of David Letterman and Hollywood

In light of the recent and base actions of David Letterman – which few are condemning in the liberal media – Mr. Letterman once again mocked Sarah Palin and made her the butt of his humor and sarcasm. I think it’s “funny” that Letterman has shown absolutely no remorse nor a hint of shame in the recent exposure of his adulterous scandal. The only remorse from Letterman has been that he was exposed and caught as an adulterer. It is just regarded as a joke and something to laugh at. In the godless, delusional Bizarro world of reprobate Hollywood, he has every right to indulge in his base, unbridled passions and to scoff at and slander any who would hold him accountable. Thus far Letterman has worn this as a “badge of honor,” and along with those who enjoy this secular reprobate’s late night show has played it as great sport. In fact, Letterman’s ratings the last couple of nights have been quite good.

In the base world of David Letterman, morality and absolutes do not exist. He rejects moral boundaries and absolutes, and in his reprobate mind any who profess and practice them are evil. Mr. Letterman despises Judean/ Christian values and any who hold them dear. Those in this category are usually made the butt of his jokes.

As mentioned earlier, one of Letterman’s favorite targets is Sarah Palin. Mrs. Palin is a Bible-believing Christian, a conservative Republican who is pro-life, a happily married mother of five children, and she is a great American success story. Only last night - a day after Letterman’s licentious and empty-hearted apology - Letterman took the stage to clear the air and chose to once again lash out against Sarah Palin and her soon to be released
number one memoir Going Rogue: An American Life. Over the next two weeks Letterman plans to count down from 15 in a series entitled, “Things more fun than reading Sarah Palin's Memoir,” using his trademark lewd and sarcastic humor (see Ecclesiastes 7:6).

What a little tiny man Mr. Letterman is to deflect from his own Late Night licentious dealings and folly to slander and mock one who practices faith in Almighty God, Judean/ Christian values, morality, and holds to a conservative ideology. The very ideals he hates (John 3:19-20) are the ideals which condemn Lettermen’s actions and weigh heavily on his guilty conscience. How else would one expect Mr. Letterman to react in light of his base actions and exposed infidelities?

Listen to what the Bible teaches about such individuals as David Letterman:

But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves (Jude 1:10).

But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption (2 Peter 2:12).

Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things (Phil 3:19).

And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them (Roman 1:28-32).

The Bizarro World of Hollywood

Letterman is just one of many in the “bizarro world” culture of Hollywood’s elites who love to pontificate against any who practice morality and faith in Almighty God, while promoting the basest ideals (e.g., adultery and multiplying marriages) and glorifying them. They actually see themselves as role models and cultural trend-setters to be followed and worshiped in lockstep. Hollywood’s glamorization and glorification of youthful beauty and human talent are just a thin veil of flesh housing the septic tank stench of their shallow soul and their deeds (Jer. 17:9; Matt. 15:16-20; Jude 1:10). Many today are deceived by this attractive cloak. They see only the tangible, visible appearance while they are blind to their wicked heart and godless actions (1 Tim 4:1-3; 2 Tim 3:1-6; Jude 1:4).

"Woe unto you Hollywood!"

Woe unto you Hollywood! Woe unto all that call evil good and good evil (Isaiah 5:20). They will not get by with it, and they will find it most sobering when having to give an account in the Day of Judgment to Almighty God! (Rev 20:11-15)

It is our sincere desire that those in Hollywood - including Mr. Letterman - would turn from their godless ways and look to Almighty God for His grace, mercy and forgiveness. All of God’s children who have been redeemed in Christ have done so and can testify to this fact (2 Cor. 5:17-19; Gal. 1:4, Eph. 2:1-9).

We can now sing from our hearts:
.
Amazing Grace, How sweet the sound, That saved a wretch like me,
I once was lost, but now am found, Was blind but now I see.

In the end, Christ will either be our Savior or our Judge. It is our personal choice. Which one will you choose?

The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!

Do You Value What Almighty God Values?

In our American society, what a person finds important, of value, is vitally connected to what one’s society finds important. The safety of a nation is surely related to what it values. Good and healthy values maintain the existence of a nation. Our “UNALIENABLE RIGHTS. . . Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness” are in jeopardy. They are not to be transferred to a new owner. “Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people” (Proverbs 14:34).

As our nation abandons its historic healthy foundation, it will be unable to survive the tests of rightness and reality. It is only solid ground that offers support to the good and bad. A nation that has little or no place for moral rightness, traditional family structure, etc. cannot last. It is within a healthy society that things not so healthy and even worse can exist and have a place and hope for a good recovery. As we are indifferent to and even vote for the losing of healthy values
then we are left with unhealthy values. Such unhealthy conditions are like the flea finding no good home in the dead cat.

As we abandon God-honoring family structure and moral standards we assure the present and future generations of much trouble. Our present needs, wants and wrongs have no refuge apart from a safe moral and family environment. Failed marriages, the absence of legal marriages and, of far greater damage, the promoting of marriages that violate sound reasoning which honors God’s original intent, make for a troubled and troublesome society. A people away from God’s good order are like a train off its tracks. Neither shall rightly advance.

The God ordered values of MARRIAGE (Genesis 2:24; Hebrews 13:4), FAMILY, DISCIPLINE, MORAL RIGHTNESS, WORK, LAW and ORDER, RESPECT, DECENCY, etc. are always safe and sure standards.

God’s Values Do Not Change

“For I am the LORD, I CHANGE NOT; Therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. Even from the days of your fathers ye are gone away from mine ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto ME, and I will return unto you, saith the LORD of hosts: (Malachi 3:6-7). “The counsel of the LORD standeth forever, the thoughts of His heart to all generations. Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD” (Psalm 33:11-12).

God’s Values Allow For Grace

“The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should PERISH, but that all should come to repentance.” (2 Peter
3:9). “Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise PERISH” (Luke 13:3, 5) “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should NOT PERISH, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

God’s Values Set The Standard
For Our Values

“He that hath My commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth Me: and he that loveth Me shall be loved of My Father, and I will love him, and will manifest Myself to him...He thatloveth Me not keepeth not My sayings: (John 14:21, 23, 24). “The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether” (Psalm 19:7, 8, 9).

Our values must realistically line up with God’s RIGHTNESS. God’s RIGHTNESS is put on display in the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ whom God values. Our values need to line up with God’s. To believe on the Lord Jesus Christ is to value God’s Rightness. “For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believeth” (Romans 10:4). “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, though salt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation: (Romans 10:9-10)

13 Key Questions That Must Be Answered Before Supporting or Rejecting Government Controlled Health Care

13 Key Questions That Must Be Answered Before Supporting or Rejecting Government Controlled Health Care

1. Is universal health care constitutional? Did the founding fathers believe that it was the government’s responsibility to provide health care for its citizens? Is health care really a right? Should the government also provide everyone with a car, a home, a college education, and maybe even a high definition TV?

2. Is universal health care really affordable? Is it going to drive our country into greater debt and create an unbearable and unsolvable debt problem for our children and grandchildren? Is governmental health care going to result in higher taxes, overburdening a society that is already far overtaxed? Providing health care for millions who are not now covered is going be extremely costly. Who is going to pay the bill? In our own families, if we have any fiscal sanity, when we cannot afford to buy something, we don’t. For the government to spend money it doesn’t have is economic suicide. It may temporarily help the uninsured, but ultimately it hurts all Americans. Bankrupt California is a picture of what our nation will become if we continue to practice deficit spending. Maybe our government will bail out California, but who will bail out the United States? The terrorists do not need to attack us; they can just stand by as we destroy ourselves.

3. Is governmental health care going to be wasteful and poorly managed like so many big government programs? Consider, for example, the public governmental school systems. For far less money per student, private schools have achieved a far better education than the public schools (as demonstrated in numerous studies). Are we to assume the government will do better when it comes to providing good quality health for its citizens without significant waste and mismanagement?

4. Is universal health care just? Is it fair to have hard working, successful Americans pay for the health care of those who do not have it? Should each according to his ability provide to each according to his need? I’m all in favor of those who are wealthy contributing to help those who are in need, but should not this contribution be voluntary out of a charitable heart of love and concern for the less fortunate? It should not be a government imposed obligation forced upon all Americans by way of higher fees and taxes.

5. Will governmental health care foster freedom and liberty? The freedom to choose one’s own doctors, to choose one’s own hospital, choose one’s own insurance plan etc. Will a person have the freedom not to have health insurance if he so desires?
.
6. Will governmental health care lead to the expansion and growth of the federal government? Will the federal government have more and more control over our lives or less control? The more we are controlled, the less we are free. As government grows, freedom shrinks.
.
7. We are told that we will be able to keep our private health insurance, but will private insurance companies be able to compete fairly with the government subsidized system?
.
8. How successful have other countries been when they have adopted governmental, socialized medicine and health care? Do we want to become like Canada? Like England? We hear horror stories of people waiting for months for medical treatment in these countries. We hear about people from Canada coming to the United States and paying out of pocket so that they can get treated in a timely fashion. Are these stories really true?
.
9. Can our health care problems be solved in some other way apart from a major take over by the government? Tort reform has been talked about for decades but no reform ever seems to take place. Both Republicans and Democrats have both failed to address this issue. Wouldn’t it be good to send less of our health care dollars to lawyers?
.
10. Will health care be prioritized and rationalized so that the elderly are less of a priority than those who are young because they don’t have much time to live anyway? What about the unborn who have serious birth defects? Will they forcibly be eliminated in order to cut anticipated medical costs?

11. If the government is in control of health care, and if they consider that certain diets and lifestyles will result in a healthier life which will result in less health care expenses, will they then begin to limit our freedoms by telling us what we can eat, not eat, etc.? Will they penalize overweight people and dictate what they can do and cannot do? How much intrusion into our private lives will take place? Will healthy lifestyle changes be enforced or will they be voluntary? Again we have the issue of personal freedom.
.
12. Our health care system needs to be reformed and improved, but should not we be careful lest the cure becomes worse than the disease?
.
13. The last and final point to be made in this list which is absolutely crucial; Be sure that your expectations and absolute trust is found only in the unchangeability of Almighty God and in His precious promises found in His Holy Word. Do not look to Washington for all your expectations and hope. The righteousness of God is our greatest need (Matt 6:33). This is by far our greatest need for our eternal future and well being more than any temporal health care agenda for us here in time.
.
Do you know the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior? If not, may you consider Him in these last days.

The 9/11/09 Hartford Tea Party

My Fellow Fishermen and Americans,

9/11/09 - We attended the Hartford Tea Party this morning and had an awesome time! In light of our God given freedoms to send a loud and focused message to Washington D. C., we had the great opportunity to talk to many- one on one - and to share with many individuals - as the topic arose - to keep focused on Almighty God and His precious truths and promise found in His Word.

Almighty God also gave me the honor and privilege (a nobody) in His grace and mercy to lead about 1500 Tea Partiers at the State Capitol before Him in prayer. To thank Him. That He alone is the only Author of liberty and freedom. That He alone is the only deliverer from the tyrannies – in this world and in the world to come. To ask of Him, for His righteous out workings in the affairs of our country and to give wisdom to those in Washington. That He would watch over and take care of our brave and valiant military men and women around the world. To help us as nation go back to the original foundations as our Founding Fathers once held and that all would bend their heart and minds to His Wonderful Person – in spirit and Truth - with Thanksgiving. We remembered 9/11 and that we would as a nation never forget that day and it’s slain. Then finally we closed in the Blessed Name of Jesus Christ (John 8:32,36).

Also, we had great opportunity, to hand out many - “True Tyranny in Light of the Tea Parties”- tracts to almost all that were in the leadership and speakers of the Tea Party Express. We also had a chance to do the same with the Local Tea Party organizers and crowd. Thanks to all those who prayed for Almighty God’s outworking and Spirit’s leading through out this cold rainy morning.

Our official political mantra here at the Ignorant Fishermen Blog is , The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand! Which it surely is my beloved. Keep looking up and not to Washington. Keep your feet planted firmly in Almighty God’s Word and in all things whatever we do, to Almighty God be the glory! May we be His bright shining lights in this day of confusion.

May Almighty God save and bless the USA till He comes! In all things to Almighty God be the Glory forever and ever! (Romans 11:36)

All of Almighty God’s highest and best for you!

The Kingdom of Heaven is truly at hand!

The 9/11 Tea Party Call! Sharing the Gospel at the Tea Parties – Free Tract and Resource

In light of the many different Tea Parties taking place across the USA today, one thing is very pertinent: that the voice of the American citizen and taxpayer be heard. As we exercise our God-given and Constitutional freedom of speech, and lift up our voices in protest against the Socialist leadership and agenda in Washington D.C., it is absolutely crucial to be reminded of what Freedom and Liberty truly stand for and were it is derived from.

God’s Word speaks of a Absolute Freedom that transcends time and eternity (Isaiah 42:7; John 8:32, 36; Heb. 2:14-15). It tells of the true (spiritual) bondage and oppression under which all humanity suffers (John 8:34; Rom. 5:12, 17a, 21a; 7:24), and the final outworking of this oppression (Rom. 3:23; Rev. 20:11-15; 21:27; 22:11, 15).

The Tea Party Call!

We would like to call on every believer that knows Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior to take this opportunity to share the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ to those at the Tea Parties. Our great desire and prayer is that many who attend these Tea Parties will come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ the Savior of the world! While we are fighting the powers in Washington D. C., may we take this opportunity to share with our American brothers and sisters the Glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ!

The heart of this outreach is to personally share with the person next to you the gospel message of Jesus Christ if the opportunity should arise (1 Cor. 15:2-4) and not just hand out a bunch of tracts that will be trampled underfoot. May we be wise “fishers of men” as our Lord Jesus taught (Matt. 4:19). Pray for the Lord’s will and the Holy Spirit's leading before you attend. May many consider and become rightly related to the Lord Jesus Christ in these last days! To God be the Glory!

We here at the IF Blog have a Gospel tract resource available in light of the current Tea Parties. It is called “True Tyranny in Light of the Tea Parties”.

This resource is absolutely free to those who are interested.

Please contact us at theignorantfishermen@live.com and we will send you 5 free tracts entitled, “True Tyranny in Light of the Tea Parties.”

My Beloved, The Kingdom of Heaven truly is at hand!

DJP I.F

Please send us your name, address, city, state and zip code to TheIgnorantFishermen@live.com and we will promptly send out this free resource to you. Your personal info will never be given to any mailing list. That is our absolute promise! To God be the glory!

THE EVOLUTIONARY DATING GAME

Much of the controversy between evolutionists and creationists concerns the age of the earth and its fossils. Evolution, depending as it does on pure chance, requires an immense amount of time to stumble upon anything remotely approaching the complexity we see in even the simplest living things. For over 1200 years, geologists have attempted to devise methods for determining the age of the earth that would be consistent with evolutionary dogma. At the time Darwin's Origin of Species was published [1859], the earth was “scientifically” determined to be 100 million years old. By 1932, it was found to be 1.6 billion years old. In 1947, geologists firmly established that the earth was 3.4 billion years old. Finally, in 1976, they discovered that the earth is “really” 4.6 billion years old. These dates indicate that for 100 years the age of the earth doubled every 20 years. If this trend were to continue, the earth would be 700 thousand-trillion-trillion ye ars old by the year 4000 AD. This “prediction,” however, is based on selected data and certain assumptions that might not be true. As we will see, selected data and unprovable assumptions are a problem with all methods for determining the age of the earth, as well as for dating its fossils and rocks. It has all become something of a “dating game” in which only the evolutionarily-correct are allowed to play.

The most widely-used method for determining the age of fossils is to date them by the “known age” of the rock strata in which they are found. On the other hand, the most widely-used method for determining the age of the rock strata is to date them by the “known age” of the fossils they contain. This is an outrageous case of circular reasoning, and geologists are well aware of the problem. J.E. O'Rourke, for example, concedes: “The intelligent layman has long suspected circular reasoning in the use of rocks to date fossils and fossils to date rocks. The geologist has never bothered to think of a good reply, feeling the explanations are not worth the trouble as long as the work brings results” [American Journal of Science 1976, 276:51]. In this “circular dating” method, all ages are based on evolutionary assumptions about the date and order in which fossilized plants and animals are believed to have evolved.

Most people are surprised to learn that there is, in fact, no way to directly determine the age of any fossil or rock. The so-called “absolute” methods of dating (radiometric methods) actually only measure the present ratios of radioactive isotopes and their decay products in suitable specimens--not their age. These measured ratios are then extrapolated to an “age” determination. This extrapolation is based on the fact that an unstable (radioactive) chemical element, called the parent isotope, breaks down at a presently known rate to form a more stable daughter isotope. In the case of radiocarbon dating, an unstable isotope of carbon (C14) decays to a more stable form of carbon (C12). This currently occurs at a rate which would be expected to reduce the quantity of the parent C14 by half every 5,370 years (the half-life). In other words, the less of the parent isotope (and the more of the daughter isotope) we measure in a specimen, the older we assume it to be.

Radiocarbon dating is actually of little use to evolutionists. There are several reasons for this. First, no rocks and very few fossils contain measurable quantities of carbon measurable quantities of carbon of any kind. Second, because of the short half-life of C14, the radiocarbon method can only date specimens up to about 40,000 years of age. Essentially nothing of evolutionary significance is believed to have occurred in this “short” time frame. The most commonly used radiometric methods for “dating” geological specimens are potassium-argon, uranium-thorium-lead, and strontium-rubidium. All three of these decay processes have half-lives measured in billions of years.

None of these methods can be used on fossils or the sedimentary rock in which fossils are found. All radiometric dating (with the exception of carbon dating) must be done on igneous rocks (rocks solidified from a molten state such as lava). These radiometric “clocks” begin keeping time when the molten rock solidifies. Since fossils are never found in igneous rocks, one can only date lava flows that are occasionally found between layers of sedimentary rock.

The problem with all radiometric “clocks” is that their accuracy critically depends on several starting assumptions which are largely unknowable. To date a specimen by radiometric means, one must first know the starting amount of the parent isotope at the beginning of the specimen's existence. Second, one must be certain that there were no daughter isotopes in the beginning. Third, one must be certain that neither parent nor daughter isotopes have ever been added or removed from the specimen. And fourth, one must be certain that the decay rate of parent isotope to daughter isotope has always been the same. That one or more of these assumptions are often invalid is obvious from the published radiometric “dates” (to say nothing of unpublished dates) found in the literature.

One of the most obvious problems is that several samples from the same location often give widely-divergent ages. Apollo moon samples, for example, were dated by both uranium-thorium-lead and potassium-argon methods, giving results which varied from 2 million to 28 billion years. Lava flows from volcanoes on the north rim of the Grand Canyon (which erupted after its formation) show potassium-argon dates a billion years “older” than the most ancient basement rocks at the bottom of the canyon. Lava flows from underwater volcanoes near Hawaii (that are known to have erupted in 1801 AD) have been “dated” by the potassium-argon method with results varying from 160 million to nearly 3 billion years. No wonder the laboratories that “date” rocks insist on knowing in advance the “evolutionary age” of the strata from which the samples were taken--this way, they know which dates to accept as “reasonable” and which to ignore. Of one thing you may be sure: whenever “absolute” radiometric dates are in substantial disagreement with evolutionary assumptions about the age of associated fossils, the fossils always prevail.

As far as the plausibility of evolution is concerned, it really doesn't make any difference if the earth is 10 billion years old or 10 thousand years old. Indeed, if the whole of evolution were reduced to nothing more than the chance production of a single copy of any one biologically useful protein, there would be insufficient time and material in the known universe to make this even remotely likely. Time by itself simply does not make the hopeless evolutionary scenario of chance and natural selection more reasonable. Imagine if a child were to claim that he alone could build a Boeing 747 airplane from the raw material in 10 seconds, and another were to claim he could do it in 10 days. Would we consider the latter less foolish than the former, simply because he proposed spending nearly a million times more time at the task? Our Creator tells us that “the fool has said in his heart, there is no God.”
