What is an Ignorant Fisherman?

2000 years ago before Jesus was crucified and rose from the dead, He chose men. The ELITE ruling class and religious rulers of that day from their position of pride and arrogance called these men of ALMIGHTY GOD "ignorant" (Acts 4:13). Almighty God, however, called these men wise and blessed (Matt. 13:16, Luke 10:23) and to be His Fishermen and Ambassadors to a lost and dying world (2 Cor. 5:17-21).

"Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. Now as he walked by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men" (Mark 1:14-17).

"Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus" (Acts 4:13).

Almighty God would use these "ignorant" men - as the godless unbelieving world perceived them - for being the catalyst for transforming and changing the entire landscape of the world by their sharing of the wonderful "Good News" of Almighty God's plan of ETERNAL salvation to humanity (Matt. 28:18-20, Acts 17:16). The resurrected Lord Jesus Christ (Psalm. 110:1, Acts 2) would also use these same believing Jewish men on Pentecost to establish His Church after the rejection of His Kingship and Kingdom offer to Israel (Matthew 16:13-19, Acts 2,3).

But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty (1 Cor 1:27).

Today "THE ELITE", wise and prudent of this world still reject and scoff at the claims of Almighty God's saving grace, Christ's soon return and the coming judgment upon the whole world and view these realities as absolute foolishness (1 Cor. 1: 18-31). In the day in which we live, it is our sole desire to be Almighty God's watchmen and to look at the current events of our day through the eyes of Almighty God's Word (John 17:17).

2000 years later, Almighty God is still saving and using "the "Ignorant Fishermen of this world" to get out His Word and to warn the world of the coming Day of Wrath.

2000 years later in these last days, Almighty God is still saving and using the "Ignorant Fishermen" of this world to get out His Word and to warn the world of the coming Day of Wrath (Rev. 6-19). My dear friends, are you one of them? Are you "ignorant" enough to believe and follow the risen Lord? The wisest of all men - by faith in Almighty God - have seen the wonders of the glorious promises found in Almighty God's Word and in the Person of Jesus Christ (1 Cor. 2:9, 2 Cor. 1:20). Put aside your nets of self will and pick up your cross for Almighty God's wonderful will and way for your life here in time for His glory (Rom. 8:26-39). My dear friend, choose this day to serve and follow the Lord for His glory and honor. You will absolutely NEVER be the same!

A Quote:

"If the wisdom of this world in which we are living in is making any sense to you today, then I'll still choose the foolishness of God and the foolishness of The Cross!" (1 Cor. 1:16-31). Dr. J. Vernon McGee

Love.. Dr.Vernen McGee, Have his "THRU THE BIBLE" full Bible commentarys by Nelson. i find he is very accurate at most, some not as descripted as in other verses. but i have to say his assesment of the "Pharaoh and Moses" [Exod.7:2-3] page 223 was hard to swallow, in fact taking the Glory of God away. In his words- "The hardening is a figurative word, which can mean twisting, as with a rope. It means God twisted the heart of Pharaoh. He was going to squeeze out what was in it. now this next line i do NOT agree with....GOD FORCED HIM TO DO THE THING HE [REALLY WANTED TO DO]. naw i dont think so... The LORD GOD wanted to prove his Almighty Power, [Exod. 7 2-3] "And I will harden Pharoah's heart, and multiply [my signs and wonders] in the land of Egypt. Now after the 9th plage i mean really!!! i want and have to mention the passover the 10th with the death of his firstborn finally did it. But then again i am more of an ignorant fisherman then the next.
