The ETERNAL Wondrous LOVE of Almighty God for You and Me!

Oh my dearly beloved, my heart rejoices greatly when I think about my Heavenly Father’s wondrous love towards you and me; sinners saved by His ETERNAL grace and mercy (John 3:16-17, 1 John 3:1-4)! To all of us that know God the Father by means of Jesus Christ our Savior, we are called His sons or children (John 1:12, Rom 8:14-19, 1 John 3:1-3)! Such wondrous truths cannot even begin to be fully comprehended by His redeemed ones (1 Cor. 2:9)! It will take all of FOREVER just to begin to experience and enjoy the PERFECT LOVE of our Heavenly Father!

My dear friends, DO NOT ever limit the will of God the Father for your life here in time, for to do so is to only lie and cheat yourself from the Father’s HIGHEST and BEST (Rom. 8:28-39). DO NOT ever second guess the Father’s love for you, for to do so is the height of foolishness and to be a liar and deceiver unto ourselves (Rom. 8:31-32). DO NOT ever doubt the Father’s wondrous concern and innumerable thoughts toward you, for to do so is to call the Father a liar (Luke 12:6-11). My dear friends, we only will cheat and rob ourselves and then open ourselves up to Satan’s lies and falsehoods when we are unbelieving and unstable in the ALL that the Father has spoken to us in TRUTH. Satan despises with all his being the PERFECT LOVE of Almighty God, which is in PERFECT TRUTH and in RIGHTEOUSNESS (John 8:44). He rebelled against it in the beginning and will continue to be vindictive and full of rage against it FOREVER (Rev. 20:10).

DO NOT ever doubt the Father’s wondrous concern and innumerable thoughts toward you!

As the Holy Scripture states; “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” The Father LOVES us and we as His children need to let Him do so. The hardest thing for a child of the Father to do is to let God the Father LOVE us. For the LOVE of the Father again seeks only the HIGHEST and BEST for the object (you and me) of His PERFECT LOVE!

The Lord Jesus spoke to those fathers who were sincere and concerned in seeking their children’s well being in a dark and trying day stated these powerful words, “Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent. If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?” (Matt. 7:9-11)

God’s ETERNAL and PERFECT LOVE transcends the realms of time and ETERNITY. It seeks ONLY our HIGHEST and BEST in RIGHTEOUSNESS for this world and our ETERNAL future.

It is the Father’s delight to give us good things! And the majority of those good things that He gives us are NOT material blessings but spiritual blessings and wisdom, heavenly discernment, reality, truth, ETERNAL and Heavenly perception, earthly provisions, good, sound believing friends in the Lord, Divine protection from the evil one, opportunities to bring glory to His WONDROUS Name (1 Cor. 1:30, Phil. 4:19).

May we remember WITH ALL OUR BEING our Heavenly Father and His ETERNAL goodness towards us in a world that despises and hates His Person and RIGHTEOUSNESS (1 John 3:1).

The TRUE Super Sunday! The Lord's Day!

Dear friends, It's that time of the year when ALL America (from top to bottom) gathers together as a nation for Super Sunday! Tragically, millions of Americans will be missing out on and not attending the TRUE Super Sunday that transcends ALL time and ETERNITY!

The original "Super Sunday", the day that the Savior of the world defeated Death and Hades (Sheol) and rose again from the grave ( Acts 2:22-36; 3:13-18; 4:10-12, 33; 5:29-32; 10:37-43; 13:27-37; 17:23, 30-32; 23:6; 24:14-16; 25:19; 26:68, 22-23, Rev. 1:18); is now the day of the week that His redeemed gather together to hear Almighty God's RIGHTEOUS Word and worship Him collectively! It is a day set apart by the Almighty God the Father for His saints to enter into His HOLY presence in a very special way; to worship Him in Spirit and TRUTH, to expose one's hearts and minds to the REALITIES of time and ETERNITY, to be challenged, strengthened and encouraged in the Savior and to fellowship with believers in Spirit and TRUTH (John 3:21, 4:24)!

My beloved, If the Lord's Day is not "super" to you then it is safe to say that the ETERNAL God, His Blessed Son, His saving grace and ETERNAL promises are not precious to you either and you might not be truly saved (Matt. 7:21-23, 2 Cor. 13:5, Jude 1:10). Football today in our nation has made millions of America's obsessed and fanatical! It consumes and dominates their minds 24/7 and occupies nearly all of their free time! I see it at work, with my family and acquaintances. Look, I love sports and I love football but we all got to get our priorities in order and set right! Football is indeed the greatest game to play and watch! However, our nation has become totally consumed with this sport and the day in which it falls upon!

Sunday has now become "MY" day and the Lord's Day has been put on the back burner for emergency purposes only!

Step back and be objective today my friends and be true to yourselves and have eyes to see! The NFL has been a satanic distraction for our nation and for our culture for years and has virtually replaced the Lord's Day hands down! The fallout from this demonic "switch -a roo" has helped to bring us as a nation to the place where we are today; lost, ignorant, distracted, godless, unfulfilled, narcissistic and doomed!  In our post Judeo/Christian America, Sunday has now become "MY" day and the Lord's Day has been put on the back burner for emergency purposes only. No doubt this appraisal sounds a little radical and fanatical to some, but that is where it is at today in the U.S. of A! As we as a family drive to church each Sunday morn the fields are full of kids playing soccer, baseball, etc, the supermarket parking lots are filled to overflowing, highways are packed going to the beach etc, etc! I think you get my point. Dear friends, remove the Lord's Day from post-Judeo/Christian American culture and see how many people will truly get upset or even care! Sadly that is where we are today and because of this neglect, we have reaped the whirlwind in our nation, culture, and society!

The NFL has been a satanic distraction in our culture for years and has replace the Lord's Day and the fallout from this has helped to bring us as a nation to where we are today; lost, ignorant, distracted, godless, narcissistic and doomed!

Football is very exciting, full of militaristic tactics, excitement and great passion, however, football has become - as it were - a cult in our country today and the Super Bowl the high holy day which is most reverenced in our nation each January/February. Sunday NFL football has also been set apart by millions for the worshiping of one's favorite teams. The amount of money and time invested by individuals into football, fantasy football leagues, gaming, food, alcohol, preparing and studying all the NFL stats, setting Sunday morning apart for all the pregame shows is zealousness at its very best! From tailgating to house parties to football gatherings; who have time or room to worship the Almighty in the spirit of TRUTH and RIGHTEOUSNESS on His day set apart? Tragically, very few today do.

Indeed football is a great game to watch and follow as I do but it can NEVER replace the Lord's Day in my mind and heart and I am not just saying that to sound self-righteous and full of piety. That is the Lord's truth. A saving personal relationship to the Lord Jesus Christ in Spirit and TRUTH is where true joy and fulfillment truly comes from and next to that there is absolutely no comparison! Until one fully has surrendered to the will of Almighty God for their lives; one will never be truly free to enjoy all things (John 8:32, 36)!

My dear fanatical football friend, enjoy the game of football but NEVER let it replace Almighty God and His Divinely set apart Day. Beware of what it has become unto you and to millions like you. It is has become a snare, a trap, a stumbling block, a distraction, to remove your affections from the ETERNAL REALITIES of time and ETERNITY (Matt. 6:19-21).

The Lord Jesus made this very sober remark to those who are obsessed and addicted to the temporal things of this world and not taking the ETERNAL seriously enough.

"And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell." Matt. 5:29-30

"Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." Matt. 6:19-21

Do you know the Lord Jesus as your personal Savior? That is the GREAT ETERNAL question for all!  "The world passeth away, and the lust thereof, but he that doeth the will of God, abideth FOREVER (1 John 2:17). The Lord's Day must be first and all other things fall a distant second! That is the healthy and proper order

The Life of Professor John C. Whitcomb

June 1924 – February 2020
 
Professor John Clement Whitcomb Jr., Th.D., was born on June 22, 1924, in Washington, D.C., to John Clement and Salome Josephine Whitcomb.  He was the only child in a military family, growing up in Tientsin, China (1927-1930), Fort Leavenworth, Kansas (1930-1933), Seattle, Washington (1933-1939), and Fort Benning, Georgia.  He attended McCallie Military Academy in Chattanooga, Tennessee (1940-1942), where he excelled scholastically.  He was then accepted to Princeton University with a career goal of becoming an American Ambassador.  During his freshman year, he met Dr. Donald Fullerton of Princeton Evangelical Fellowship, and he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.  This changed his life, resulting in the decision to be a missionary.
 
In 1942, John was drafted into the US Army and served in the 909th Field Artillery Battalion, 84th Infantry, which fought in the Battle of the Bulge at Marche, Belgium.  He returned to Princeton University and graduated with honors (1948). He then attended Grace Theological Seminary from 1948-1951 in Winona Lake, Indiana (M.Div.), with plans to return to China as a missionary.  When the Lord closed the doors to China, he opened another door when the President of Grace Seminary, Dr. Alva J. McClain, offered him a faculty position.
 
Two years later, he met his first wife, Edisene Hanson, at a Bible conference, and they married in 1953. They had 4 children—David, Donald (Don), Constance (Connie) and Robert (Bob).  Edisene developed an autoimmune liver disease and died in 1970 at the age of forty.  About the same time, Norma Pritchett’s husband, who was a doctoral student at Grace Seminary, suddenly died of a heart attack.  Norma had two sons, Daniel (Dan) and Timothy (Tim), who were the ages of Dr. Whitcomb’s children.  John and Norma later married, uniting the families in January 1971. 
 
John was a professor of the Old Testament at Grace Seminary for nearly forty years and served as the director of postgraduate studies.  He and Norma founded Whitcomb Ministries in 1990.  From 2016 until his death, he held the title of President Emeritus.
 
As an author, he published over twenty books on the Bible and science; commentaries on multiple books of the Bible, eschatology, and other topics; and numerous technical articles.  His M.Div. defense of the historical accuracy of the book of Daniel (Darius the Mede, 1959) and his Th.D. defense of a literal six-day creation and world-wide flood (The Genesis Flood, published with
Dr. Henry Morris, 1961) remain the definitive works on these subjects.  The Genesis Flood became a classic and is the foundation of the modern Creationist movement.  He also developed a series of chronological Bible history charts that revolutionized Bible study around the world.  They remain widely used today.    
 
Throughout his entire life, Professor Whitcomb was heavily involved in foreign missions, including serving as Chairman of the Board for both the Spanish World Gospel Mission and Grace Brethren Missions.  He made many international trips over the years to support these efforts. 
 
Although internationally acclaimed, Professor Whitcomb remained a humble, gentle, approachable, and caring man. He loved humor.  He had a quick, subtle wit and would roar with laughter at a good joke.  He was also brilliant.  But, as one Christian leader remarked, “Although he was intellectually high above everybody else, he had a way of taking complex truths and making them applicable and exciting to people.” 
 
He approached the Scriptures with an awe, reverence, and deep understanding that was also impactful to his students.  Professor Whitcomb’s life-guiding Bible verse was 2 Timothy 2:2— “The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.”  Thousands of his trainees are now teaching others throughout the world.
 
Professor Whitcomb never wanted positions of power. He, like a good soldier, wanted to please his commanders, and later, the great men of faith that preceded him. And he received true words of great praise from all of them. But there was one more accolade for which John Whitcomb was longing.  The one from his Heavenly Father, who on February 5, 2020, surely said, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant: Enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.”
 
Professor Whitcomb is survived by his wife Norma and children Dan & Pam Pritchett, David and Chris Whitcomb, Tim Pritchett, Don and Kim Whitcomb, Connie and Mark Rosendahl, and Bob Whitcomb.  Grandchildren include Jessica, Laura, David, John, Jill, Jamie, Jocelyn, Janessa, Kian, Weston, Kelsey, Morgan, Josiah, Nathanael, Anna, Daniel, and Sarah and twelve great-grandchildren.  

 

What Kind of Fool Would We Be to Go Without Almighty God's RIGHTEOUS Presence? A Song of Testimony and Praise!

Dear friends, what kind of FOOL would we be if we were to go forth in this evil life without our ETERNAL RIGHTEOUS Savior's PRESENCE and PERFECT will for our journey (Ex. 33:14-15, Psalm 23, Prov. 3:5-6, John 10:27-30)? This song of personal testimony challenges us to hear our Lamb and Shepherd's voice and not to leave Him out of any decision that we make! Dear friends, NEVER deviate nor leave His PERFECT WILL and PLAN for your life! Hear His still small voice and the Spirit's direction and you will ALWAYS BE SAFE in the ETERNAL RIGHTEOUS arms and risen nail-pierced hands of your precious Jesus (Matt. 4:18-20, John 10:27-30, Phil. 2:12-13, Rev. 1:17-18)!

Dear friends, NEVER deviate nor leave His PERFECT WILL and PLAN for your life! Hear His still small voice and the Spirit's direction and you will always be safe in the ETERNAL RIGHTEOUS arms and risen nail-pierced hands of your Jesus!

Almighty God's PERFECT PEACE is ALWAYS found in His PERFECT WILL and WAY for our journey (Psalm 23, Isa. 12:2, 26:3-4, 50:10, John 10, Phil. 4:4-7). Beloved, stay on His narrow road; as the voice of your ETERNAL RIGHTEOUS Lamb, Savior and Shepherd leads, directs and comforts our hearts all the way home (Prov. 3:5-6, John 10:27-30, Heb. 11:6)! God speed (1 Cor. 10:31)!
