THOU ART MY GOD

 SONG DEVOTIONAL

"O God, You are my God; earnestly I seek You..." (Psalm 63:1)

David wrote Psalm 63 while he was being hunted down by King Saul. While on the run, David was continually surrounded by uncertainty and hardship, yet his greatest desire was not for comfort or deliverance but God Himself! O beloved, those are the very times when the Almighty is beyond precious and desired above all. Indeed, our soul thirsts for the living God, knowing that God's steadfast agape love is better than life itself (Psalm 63:3)!

The very same longing of the heart should fill every child of God, whatever season of life they find themselves in, for the Lord alone satisfies the deepest needs of our hearts. His ETERNAL presence brings peace in the our wilderness, His ETERNAL Word strengthens us in our weakness, and His ETERNAL faithful love gives us ETERNAL hope through every trial that comes our way. As we seek our Faithful Shepherd daily, we discover that our greatest joy is not found in life's changing circumstances but in our unchanging Savior.

Beloved, whether we walk through seasons of abundance or seasons of waiting, our song remains the same: "Thou art MY God." He is MY refuge, MY strength, MY portion, MY hope, MY portion, and MY EVERLASTING joy! Beloved, Almighty God is the believer's personal pronoun, God! Is He yours? As you abide in and follow your precious Jesus, He will comfort and lead, and your hearts will be filled with wondrous praise, knowing that He is always with you, and that one day your faith will become sight, and you will worship your God face to face FOREVER.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father,

You are my God, and my heart longs for You. Thank You for Your steadfast love that satisfies my soul and never fails. Help me to seek You above all else and to find my joy, hope, and strength in Your ETERNAL presence. Keep my eyes always fixed on my Jesus until the day I see You face to face.

In Jesus' name I ask these things, Amen.
