All We Are Is Dust In The Wind, Or Is There More?

The Old Testament Book of Ecclesiastes is the tragic biography of Adam’s fallen race (i.e., humanity) told by the wisest of all men, King Solomon. King Solomon possessed it all: wisdom, brilliance, discernment, authority, prestige, riches/ wealth, property/ possessions, power, fame, women and glory. Amazingly, as he was reflecting on his life in his last days, he made this very sobering and horrific tragic statement: “Vanity of vanities…all is vanity” (Eccl. 1:1-15, 12:7-8).

All of it did not - and could not - yield peace and contentment. In the end, all of Solomon's great achievements and pomp could never deliver him in the hour of his death. To Solomon, all indeed was truly dust in the wind...

In possessing all of this stature and achievement, it never satisfied the ETERNAL void of his heart. All of it did not - and could not - yield peace and contentment. To Solomon, all indeed was truly dust in the wind... and in the end nothing nothing really mattered to Solomon more than His saving relationship to Almighty God (Eccl. 12 ). How many today are EVER seeking to find ETERNAL fulfillment in self delusions by applying their godless and immoral desires and actions in the pursuit of vanity. At the end of one's life one will find out must soberly that nothing really matters in one's life except a saving relationship to Jesus Christ (John 3:16-17, Rev. 20:11-15, Rev. 21, 22:1-5)

Dust in the Wind, the title of a song released by the group Kansas in the late 1970’s, is a melancholy piece regarding the terrible uncertainties and brevity of earthly existence. There is no certainty, no hope, no expectation, no solution and no deliverance. The song is painted with pessimistic colors and presents a bleak and tragic picture with absolute abandonment and no salvation to be found. All we are is dust in the wind….

What the majority of humanity (and the song) greatly misses is that without Almighty God, our Creator and Sustainer and His righteousness, all is indeed an absolute tragedy, vainity and dust in the wind (Psalm 39:5). My friend, that was never God’s plan and purpose for His creation (Rom. 5:12-21). It is Almighty God’s sincerest desire that all would come to the saving knowledge of His Son Jesus Christ and have Eternal Life. The Bible states:

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved" (John 3:16-17)

"Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die…?" (Ezekiel 33:11)

"For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost" (Matt 18:11)

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light" (Matt 11:28-30)

Jesus said, "The thief (Satan) cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly" (John 10:10)

Your existence here in time does not have to end in vanity. Almighty God has a great future plan and purpose for your life.

But as it is written, "Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him" (1 Cor. 2:9)

"Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live" (John 11:25)

"And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever" (Rev. 22:5)

.Without Almighty God’s remedy for our sinful condition which is found only in the Person of His Son Jesus Christ, indeed all is truly vanity and dust in the wind.

"Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah" (Psalm 39:5).

And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire" (Rev 20:11-15)

In the end, Solomon fully comprehended that Almighty God was absolutely essential for the existence of man. To know Him is life ETERNAL with great expectation and purpose!

"Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil" (Eccl. 12:13,14)

Do you know the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior? To know Him is to have ETERNAL Life and possess ETERNAL Hope. May it be your sincere desire to know the One that made it all possible for you to have all of God’s highest and best for your life - both here in time and also for ETERNITY.

Intervention for the Damned

This world in which we live is a fallen world (Rom. 5:12-19), ravished by the violations of Almighty God’s natural and spiritual laws (Isaiah 24:5). There is absolutely NO hope for mankind when left to this world's designs. Godless man - no matter how noble, no matter how virtuous, no matter how full of good intentions - can never and will never bring about an utopian world peace. This is impossible apart from Almighty God and His Saving Grace. All the good intentions and humanitarian efforts of humanity are vanity (Eccl. 1:4, 4:4). In light of our true and most desperate need, we need Almighty God’s salvation and deliverance from the wrath which is to come (John 3:16-17; Rom. 7:24, 25; 2 Thess. 1:8-10). A broken egg world (Romans 3:23) can never be fixed by broken egg humanity. How can imperfection create perfection? How can chaos and anarchy bring about peace and harmony? These are just basic common sense truths that humanity will NOT address. Humanity has a "terminal fixation" on things belonging to the temporal confines of time (i.e., that which has a beginning and an end). At the same time, it has absolutely NO CONCEPT of the things of ETERNITY and its future destiny therein.

How can imperfection create perfection? How can chaos and anarchy bring about peace and harmony? These are just basic common sense truths that humanity will NOT address.

Just a note of explanation here: OF COURSE we should do all we can to help those who are oppressed and devastated by the ravishing of this fallen world, but that in and by itself will NEVER SAVE anyone in the Day of Judgment (Rev. 20:11-15). or deliver anyone from the reign of Death in this fallen world. Only an “outside intervention” from Almighty God can deliver us from the terror of death and His wrath (John 3:36; Rom. 4:25; 5:6-8)!

Divine Intervention

2000 years ago, God sent His Son to pay the price for our trespasses and to deliver us from this present fallen world (John 3:16-17, Gal. 1:4). God the Father sent His Son not to judge us but to deliver us from our ruin (Romans 7:24-25). Jesus came to earth to SAVE and DELIVER the damned from ruin and ETERNAL judgment. It is when we reject His saving grace that in the end He becomes our Judge (Rev. 20:11-15).

This world is bankrupt and ruined by man’s transgressions (Isa 24:5-6). Once these realities are seen by an honest and humbled heart, that individual will comprehend his desperate need for God’s mercy and saving grace (Romans 7:24-25).

As these days are coming to an end and as the world falls deeper into decadence and ruin, may I ask you this very sobering question? Do you know the Lord Jesus Christ as your PERSONAL Savior? All depends on it. Through Christ, God has redeemed the world to Himself and will restore it for 1000 years in peace and righteousness (Isaiah 11). After Christ's 1000-year reign we (i.e., those who have received Almighty God’s saving grace) will reign with Him FOREVER and EVER in righteousness (Rev. 22:1-5). That is what God's plan is for everyone... for those who will but choose it!

My friend, what hope there is in Almighty God! Place your trust in Him today. You will never be the same!

My dear friend, may we get right down to the real nitty gritty of our hour... Do YOU personally know the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior as the Holy Scriptures teach. In death everyone will give an account to Almighty God whether conservative or progressive (John 3:36, Rom. 14:11, Phil. 2:10, Heb. 9:27, Rev. 20:11-15). What we need today is ETERNAL REALITY and not subjective optimistic delusions. Here me, I love America and its noble aspirations at our founding but the jig is up and the Day of the Lord is at hand (Rev. 6-19). May you choose to want to see the REALITY of our hour for if you do you will be made ETERNALLY free (John 3:16-17, 36, Rev. 22:1-5)!

Redeeming the Time Wisely For The Lord!

In light of our hour, those of us who profess a genuine saving faith in Jesus Christ ought to be looking for His soon coming (1 Thess. 4:13-18, 1 John 3:1-4) and be redeeming the time, for the days are indeed evil (Eph. 5:16; 6:13). That REALITY alone should be our great desire for the advancement of the “great commission”  of the Gospel (good news), its outworking and fulfillment (Acts 1:8; 2 Cor. 5:18-20; 2 Tim. 1:9).

The failing social and moral issues of the day have apparently consumed and caused many Bible Believers and Evangelicals to stumble and fall.

These seem to have taken their eyes off of their ETERNAL position (Eph. 2:6, Col. 3:1-4), the ETERNAL Savior of their souls and the very hour in which we are living. These individuals are dear, sincere people who just need to redirect their course and current position to get their holy calling and priorities right (1 Cor. 2:2; Gal. 6:14). We should not get discouraged, however, if many do not, for the Lord Himself proclaimed a great spiritual decline in these Last Days (Matt. 24, Rev. 3:14-22).

In these Last Days may our hearts be tuned and fully yielding to the Holy Spirit's leading as we seek to do our part for “God and country” while never confusing or compromising the given order. May we be seeking ONLY God’s highest and best for all Americans and the world, which is having a saving relationship to Jesus Christ and the reality of sound Biblical teaching of Holy Scripture (2 Cor. 9:13; Phil. 3:12; 1 Tim. 6:2; 2 Tim. 4:15-16).

In these Last Days may we be doing our part for “God and country” while never confusing or compromising the given order.

Wherever we may find ourselves, may our political mantra be: “Servants of Christ FIRST, and a Conservative SECOND.” When we enjoy our healthy standing in Christ and are standing in Him rightly, we will inevitably be a right healthy conservative in everything we do and say (1 Cor. 6:20; 7:31; Col. 1:28; 3:16-17)!

What is True Beauty and How Do I Get It?

What exactly is TRUE BEAUTY? Well... quite simply, TRUE BEAUTY is NOT the genetic make up given to an individual at the moment of conception. How many millions have been deceived into thinking that their genetic make up or human "beauty" is actually their true self. Oh deceived one. The world's history is full of the "beautiful" who fill the world's graves and have been long forgotten. We as persons live in these bodies which gives us access to outwork life here in time in this physical world but our bodies and genetic make up is not who we are.

 The beauty of a man or woman is only for a moment and then as a flower of summer blooms with great wonderment and glory unto the GLORY of the CREATOR, wilts and fades away FOREVER.

The beauty of a man or woman is only for a brief moment and then as a flower of summer blooms with great wonderment and glory unto the GLORY of the ALL WISE ETERNAL CREATOR (Matt. 6:27-30), wilts and fades away FOREVER (Job, 14:2, Psalm 103:15-17, Prov. 31:30, 1 Peter 1:24. 1 John 2:16-18, Rev. 20:11-15)! Dear friends, look at the outward "beautiful" of our America's Hollywood past. They were all here for a moment to shine and are now FOREVERMORE gone. Thus our beauty and flesh is but mortal, brief, corrupt, vain and dust... and has NO abode in ETERNITY FUTURE (Rom. 5:7:18-25, 1 Cor. 15:50, 2 Cor. 5:1-4, John 3:6). However, our person soul and spirit - which dwells in this temporal fallen body of flesh - is ETERNAL and will either dwell in ETERNITY'S prison in perdition (the Lake of Fire- Rev. 20:11-15) or in Glory redeemed from this body of flesh (Rom. 7:24-25, Cor. 15:50-58, Rev. 21, 22:1-5).

 TRUE BEAUTY is our greatest need in the light of ETERNITY'S RIGHTEOUS PERFECT DEMANDS.

What is TRUE BEAUTY? TRUE BEAUTY is a wonderful FREE gift from Almighty God (Rom. 5:16-17; 6:23). The FREE GIFT of TRUE BEAUTY is provided to all by Almighty God (1 Cor. 1:30). TRUE BEAUTY is our greatest need in the light of ETERNITY'S RIGHTEOUS PERFECT DEMANDS.

This pinnacle of wondrous beauty is nothing less than the glorious RIGHTEOUSNESS that Almighty God has provided for His fallen creation. This BEAUTY is found nowhere else but in Christ Jesus, the Savior of the whole world (Rom. 10:4; 2 Cor. 5:21).

"Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints" (Rev 19:6-8).

When one places their absolute trust in Jesus Christ and His saving grace, that individual is given the BEAUTY of the RIGHTEOUSNESS of Almighty God and ETERNAL Life (Psalms 7:17; 90:17; John 3:16,17).

God takes on Himself our shame and sinful hideousness, and He bestows on us the BEAUTY of His RIGHTEOUSNESS (Psalms 17:15; Isaiah 61:1-3; 64:6; Rom. 4:6, 22-24; 5:4; 1 Cor. 1:30; 2 Cor. 5:17; 1 John 3:2).

Oh, how will the redeemed of Almighty God shine and rejoice forever in the ETERNAL BEAUTY of the Lord! (Dan. 12:3; Matt. 13:43; 1 Cor. 2:9).

What About You?

May I ask you this very sobering question? Do you possess the Beauty of Righteousness that is found only in Jesus Christ? The Bible states in Isaiah 64:6 that “all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags [bloody menstrual cloths].” All earthly beauty will fade away, as countless millions have experienced and could testify. Only the BEAUTY of Almighty God’s RIGHTEOUSNESS (state of perfection) will endure FOREVER (Matt. 13:43; Rev. 22:11).

You do not know what will happen tomorrow (Proverbs 27:1). If you do not know the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, may you do so even now by making that conscious decision to receive Him into your heart and life. Then shall your beauty endure FOREVER as the stars of FOREVER, and bliss and joy will you know forevermore (Matt 13:43; 1 Cor. 2:9). Place your trust in Him TODAY. Behold, now is the day of salvation (2 Cor. 6:2)! You will NEVER be the same!

Him for You

My friend, let me ask you this very sobering and pertinent question. Do you possess the absolute perfection (righteousness) within yourself that is required to enter Almighty God’s RIGHTEOUS heaven? The answer is a very obvious and sobering, “No, you do not.” How will you then enter into ETERNITY and meet it's perfect and righteous demands?

Almighty God has made provision for you in the Person of His Son, Jesus Christ sending Him for you. God’s Word states:

For he (God) hath made him (Christ) to be sin for us, who knew no sin (Christ); that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. (2 Cor. 5:21)

For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. (Romans 10:4)

But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption. (1 Cor. 1:30)

He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. (John 3:36)

Will you take God at His Word today and put your trust and faith in Jesus Christ alone? He alone has all the remedies for your imperfect human condition. He alone will provide you with the perfect righteousness needed to secure your eternal future. Put your absolute trust in him today! You will never be the same!
