In light of the recent environmental controversy over splattergate, where the green propaganda ad in the United Kingdom explosively became gory red in the classroom, it is time to be reminded that it was pacifist-leftist Kurt Tucholsky (1890-1935) who pointed out that the Nazis started out green but became bloody red. This political reality came much to the dismay of many German conservationists as they slowly found out the real intent of Adolf Hitler. Naïve German greens had no idea that many of the Fuhrer’s savage premeditations about continental hegemony were often conjured up at his mountain retreat in the wild Bavarian Alps. They just assumed that he was enjoying the alpine serenity of the region away from the hubbub of Berlin. Neither did they apprehend that the sweeping Nazi environmental laws of 1933-35 were an implicit Anti-Semitic precursor for the racially charged Nuremberg laws. Together, they would both specifically target Jewish internationalism, whether coming from the capitalistic west or the communistic east, as being unnatural and alien, i.e., not indigenous to Germany.

One of the most embarrassing environmental facts of the 1930’s was that between 60-70% of the German greens were Nazi Party members, compared to only 10% of the population at large. In fact, German greens even outperformed medical doctors and teachers, with Nazi foresters and veterinarians leading the charge. Somehow, the so-called independent German wandervogels (German word for ‘wandering free spirits’) found themselves at the footstool of Der Fuhrer. Their wandervogel attitudes about civilization and the wild forestlands found a political niche in the isolationist biology of the Nazi Party. Furthermore, their strong beliefs in holism found a political voice in the totalitarian Social Darwinism of the Nazis, which was largely rooted in Ernst’s Haeckel’s ecology of the 1800’s. In those days, racism was good ‘scientific’ biology, disguised by eugenics as it was. It was the rage of the late 1800’s and early 1900’s that required the cataclysm of World War II to bring about an international repentance on the subject. In Germany, ethnicity and nature, racism and environmentalism, often went hand in hand. By the time of the Nazi period, this collaboration became hardened into a political-biological ecology known as “blood and soil.”

Though the German greens predated the Nazis by well over 100 years, with the advent of the Nazi Party, their previous Romanticism was transformed into something far more sinister because of its ties to a strong totalitarian state, where, for the first time, they became political players at the federal level. While environmental historians are quick to point out that the Four Year Plan’s great battle for production later compromised the new conservation laws, the fact of the matter is that the idea of a political totalitarian environmentalism was born in the Third Reich. Indeed, the 1935 Reich Nature Protection Act trumpeted the slogan, “it shall be the whole landscape.” Green historians may debate on how effective this totalitarian conservation law was, but nonetheless, here is seen the birth of environmental impact statements and the like. In Nazi Germany, private property could even be seized without compensation for the sake of environmental concerns. As such, what was unique about Nazi environmentalism was not in its setting aside of nature reserves ala Teddy Roosevelt, but in its willingness to regulate already developed properties for the sake of the environment. This was a line that Teddy Roosevelt and Gifford Pinchot did not cross. The green Nazis, however, crossed the Rubicon.

Another man who worked with Kurt Tucholsky in the late 1920’s was pacifist-Marxist John Heartfield. He was a very gifted political artist who often used exaggerated metaphors to hyperbolize the contradictions of National Socialism. Not surprisingly, upon Nazi accession to power, he was forced to suffer through a harrowing escape from Germany in 1933. In the later 30’s he made up a montage of Hitler watering an oak tree which bore the acorn fruit of army helmets and shells painted with swastikas. Like Tucholsky before him, he thus astutely recognized the dark shade of green that characterized Hitler and the Nazis of the 1930’s.

The oak tree was considered to be the sacred tree of Germany. Hitler loved oak trees and had them planted all over the Reich as “concordant with the spirit of the Fuhrer.” Oak leaves and acorns were even the symbols of the SS, Hitler’s green praetorian guard. With great interest is that Hitler also gave oak saplings to all of the gold medal winners of the 1936 Olympics as nationalistic living symbols of the competitive Olympic spirit. Jesse Owens received four of them. American gold medal winner Glenn Morris also took one home. Some of these Olympic oaks are still alive.

.With even greater interest is that in July of 2009, a tremendous controversy erupted in Jaslo, Poland over one of Hitler’s oaks planted by the Wehrmacht in 1942 to celebrate his birthday, “the ritual was always the same: a brass band and a speech by the German-imposed mayor that would always invoke the metaphor of deep roots, of tiny acorns turning into great oaks, of 1,000-year Reichs. Attendance was compulsory.” This oak tree is evidence of Nazi Germany’s green plans for the East. Landscape planners were even chomping at the bit to get started in Ukraine and Belarus behind the Wehrmacht’s advance into Russia. The oak tree was scheduled to be taken down due to a construction project, but an eyewitness of the event intervened and informed the people of the city that the oak tree should be saved since it was a silent witness to some of the greatest crimes committed in the 20th century. With all of the articles that were written up about the controversy, most intriguing of all is how uninterested so many were in delving into the Nazi environmental record behind the planting of that oak tree. It seems that post-modern western man has become too infatuated with environmental fascism to take notice.

While many continue to use the eco-fascism label as a figure of speech to help illustrate the growing totalitarian menace of the modern green movement, it is no metaphor. Eco-fascism is rooted in history like a German oak tree, and this is nowhere more shockingly evident than at Buchenwald Concentration Camp. Buchenwald means “Beech Forest.” The SS enjoyed a zoo just outside the camp. In the midst of the camp are the remains of Goethe’s oak. The famous scholar Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749-1832) blazed the trail for the German Romantic Movement. Today, Romanticism is known as Environmentalism. Goethe spent much time around the environs of that particular oak tree, the destination of his favorite forest retreat. When the Nazis cleared the ground for the construction of the camp, they carefully preserved the oak tree. Late in the war, the tree died during an Allied bombing raid. However, the stump still remains thanks to the special care that the Nazis gave to it at its funeral.

However, this green sacrificial offering of the Jews committed under Nazi oak trees will be powerfully answered by God’s gracious salvation in the future for His people Israel (Zech 12 -14). In great contrast to the nature worship slaughterhouse that was the Third Reich, (Isaiah 61:3) specifically promises that in the apocalyptic future, God will turn Israel’s ashes into oaks of righteousness (Isaiah 61:1-8). This will occur after the Great Tribulation during the Jewish-Christian Millennium promised throughout both the Old and New Testaments (Jeremiah 31:27-40; Ezekiel 37; Revelation 19-20). Here the Lord will turn the great tragedy that was the Holocaust into the greatest blessing ever known in the history of mankind.

Dear Mr. Limbaugh, Greetings and Dittos from the Ignorant Fishermen Blog. Pertaining to your question on your show today, we - the Ignorant Fishermen - have the answer. It brings us no joy or pleasure in our response to your question, but as you have so honestly taught us, we must have courage to look at the truth. We ask of you to do the same also. In this sobering reply we do not leave America hopeless, nor do we leave America without the answers to the catatonic realities at hand. Our dear Mr. Limbaugh and fellow Americans, there is great hope to all American Conservatives and to the world in this very hour as we as a nation hang at the very precipice of doom.

Today Conservatism in America - and in the world - is at the “Alamo” of its existence. As we shall see, there is no way that we as a nation - let alone a global society - can survive the devastating secular impact of the past 50 years. Even now we are at the imploding point. The overall structure is ready to collapse by the overload of godlessness and decadence heaped upon it by the American people. The dam is about to burst, and the “lawlessness flood” of oppression, tyranny, global war and human catastrophe is soon to deluge the United States of America and the entire world. With the recent passing of the Health Care Reform bill and a tyrannical President and Leftist elected officials, we are speeding toward a lawless fascist state.

We should not become overconfident or overly excited by the Scott Brown victory or other conservative-moderate victories in 2010, however exciting they might be. The true heart of the American people has NOT changed for the better. It is what it has always been over these last 50 years or so: licentious and haughty. Even now many conservatives have been subtly intoxicated and tainted by socialism, godlessness and the immoral practices of the Left (Jer. 6:16-17; Matt. 15:8, 18-20). For example, consider the Republican administration and congress of the last 8 years. Except for a core of faithful and true conservatives (fiscal and moral), the movement would have faded away years ago. What makes you think that the heart of these politicians or the American people has changed or will change? It hasn't and it won't. Sadly, the "voter reaction" victories to occur in 2010 (e.g., Scott Brown) are likely displaying the last struggling convulsions of a decadent nation on the precipice of total collapse. I have absolutely no pleasure in making this statement. In fact, I do so with a grieving heart.

After a certain point, the cankering and corruption of a society cannot be uprooted and fixed. This is stark reality. There will be no stopping this decadent tidal wave and tsunami EXCEPT by Jesus Christ’s second coming to earth to establish His Kingdom in RIGHTEOUSNESS (Dan. 2:34, 44; Rev. 19:11-21). This, my friends, is by no means a fairy tale or imaginary dream. All of life attests to the fact that Divine Justice is coming and we all must give an account, whether conservative or liberal (Rom. 1:18-32).

 .2009 has been the year of the point of no return for America. There has never been a time of more devastating legislation and drunken power-inflamed spending alongside an immoral secular dominance in our nation’s brief history, than in the year 2009 . There is no way for America to survive this deluge of secular occupation. This is not just our own personal evaluation and private interpretation. Sadly, many in the Conservative leadership and movement today cannot grasp this final reality even while knowing that things are indeed grim. It seems to be a Conservative trait to remain thoroughly optimistic of the future despite very grave realities.

If we are to survive as a nation, Conservatives need to fight like never before and do all we can to hold back this “dominance of decadence” and marching tyranny. 2009 also has been the year of the “grassroots conservative” American. From organizing Tea Parties and other rallies, calling and writing our legislators, voting, being informed about the issues and legislation affecting our nation and personal freedoms, the Conservative American has stepped up like never before. We have a lot to be proud about and thankful for, but in the end will it be enough?

The Reality at Hand

The Conservative movement in America - much like those who fought valiantly at the Alamo - will shortly be overrun and butchered at the hand of the godless, lawless world in which we are living (Gal. 1:4; Eph. 6:12). This sobering reality is too much for the majority of conservatives to think on, and understandably, they do not want to have this in their mindset. This outlook is just too horrendous and frightening. It is even more alarming that multitudes of conservatives are oblivious or have very little understanding of what Almighty God’s Word has to say about events transpiring in the Last Days of godless mankind (Matt. 24; 2 Tim. 3:1-7; Jude 1:18; Rev. 6 - 19). If they truly had faith in Almighty God and believed His Word, they would fully comprehend the day and hour in which we live, having the liberating knowledge that Almighty God is still on His Throne (John 8:32, 36; Rev. 4-5)! Fallen humanity (conservative or liberal) is doomed to failure without their Creator and Savior. Unfortunately, many conservatives want to remain subjective and willingly ignorant about the harsh realities at hand. They cannot let go of their “Conservative Optimism” that insipidly insists that “all will be well in the end" (Jer. 6:14, 8:11; Ezek. 13:10; 1 Thess. 5:3).” Such delusional optimism is rampant in the conservative movement, preached by its false prophets of optimism to the optimist Kool-aid drinkers” on the right. We must see “outside the box” of time and look at the whole, eternal picture. That is the only way to truly comprehend the day we live in.

Our hope should not rest upon the American people or the conservative movement; and our expectations should not be focused on the outcome of future (e.g., the 2010) elections (Psalm 146:3; Jer. 17:5-9).

Our only hope for today - and tomorrow - is found in Almighty God’s Son Jesus Christ. He alone can set men free from the bondage and tyranny of sin and its dire consequences (Rom. 3:23; 6:23; Rev. 20:11-15).

At the end of the horrific seven-year tribulation period wherein global lawlessness and anarchy reigns (Isa. 13:9-11; Zeph. 3:8-9; Matt. 24), Jesus Christ will come back to earth from Heaven’s glory to crush the godless world’s rebellion (Isa. 24; Daniel 2:44-45; 2 Thess. 2:8-9; Rev. 19:11-21). Jesus Christ will then establish His 1000-year reign on the earth in righteousness, and banish all those who rebelled against Almighty God’s natural laws and spiritual absolutes (Matt. 25:31-32). These lawless ones will be held fully accountable and their punishment will be severe, swift and eternal (Dan 7:27; Matt. 25:41). At this time Christ will establish His kingdom and will rule the world with a righteous rod of iron (Isa. 9:7, Micah 4;2-3, Rev. 2:27, 12:5, 19:15). Peace, liberty and justice will be the fruit of the Reign of Christ (Isa. 2:2-4). The Laws of Nature and of Nature’s Creator will be established and honored throughout the world, and harmony and peace shall be the fruit thereof (Isa. 2:1-5, 11:1-10, 65:25; Hab. 2:14; Zech. 14:16-21). The 1000-year reign of Christ will be a “Conservative Utopia” of righteous perfection for all who truly want it (Psalm 27:7; Isa. 32:17; Matt. 5:3-12; Rom. 14:17; James 3:18).

It is ONLY through and by God’s Son Jesus Christ that we can find peace with God and peace in our lives (John 14:27; Eph. 2:14; Philip. 4:7). The tide of our day is inexorably moving, and it is a losing battle no matter how valiantly we try to fight or stem it. Godless mankind cannot overcome or alter the oppressive nature of the flesh (fallen unregenerate humanity). It will eventually succumb to its power and destroy itself. This is exactly what Almighty God’s Word tells us (Jer. 17:9; Rom. 7:18, 23-24).

Do You Personally Know Your Creator/ Redeemer?

May I ask you this serious question? Do you have the perfect righteousness needed to enter into the holy presence of Almighty God? That is exactly what Almighty God has provided in the person of Jesus Christ for all those of Adam’s fallen race (Rom. 3:23; 6:23; 10:2-4; 2 Cor. 5:21).

These turbulent and troubling days are only going to get worse. There is nothing we can do to stop what is happening and that which will come to pass. We are indeed at the Alamo in our world today. May you look “outside the box” of your time-constrained worldview, and have faith in Almighty God who so loved the world that He sent His Son to die for your sins and mine, i.e., the sins of the entire world (John 3:16-17). That is what LIFE is all about - having a living relationship with our Creator in spirit and truth (reality) - John 4:24.

May you place all your expectations in Him alone for your eternal - as well as temporal - well-being (1 Peter 5:7; Rev. 1:5). You will never be the same, no, never!

Conservatism's General Rejection of Biblical Authority

The Conservative movement of today basically consists of individuals with various personal beliefs (both religious and ideological), but conservatism in general sadly rejects outright the absolute authority of the Bible, the Holy Word of Almighty God. It is a “bestselling” book widely reverenced, but too many Conservatives reject its Divine authority and preeminence. These “Subjective Conservatives” cannot see out of this box called time, and thus they are oblivious to the realities of Holy Scripture truth. This includes the coming establishment of the literal Kingdom of Almighty God on earth, as well as that concerning their own eternity destiny
(John 3:3-5; Romans 8:5-8; 1 Cor. 2:12-14; Jude 1:19).

Many conservatives in the New Media are on a “suicide alert” today trying to cope with the present realities at hand. One in particular is radio host Michael Savage. He is the most moved and passionate about our declining American culture and government. Sadly though, Mr. Savage and others are not truly objective about the realities of Almighty God and His Word to receive its simple message (Acts 16:31; Romans 14:17; 1 Cor. 15:2-4). Why not, you might ask? Well, for one thing a lack of genuine humility will prevent anyone from turning to God and knowing the truth (1 Pet. 5:6; Matt. 11:28-30). Committed and sincere but blinded by pride, they are thus doomed to their own subjective world view of reality (John 5:37-41; Rom. 7:24-25).

Subjective Conservatives also sadly remain subjects of this world of humanity and time in which they live, and they will not be objective about their eternal future and desperate need for a Savior (Rom. 1:17-22; 8:5-8; 1 Cor. 2:12-14). They are likewise totally oblivious in realizing their greatest and most desperate need: the righteousness (perfection) of Almighty God, a gift provided only through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ (Rom. 10:2-4).

The Only Hope for the Conservative

In a day of utter abandonment of God-given common sense and moral laws, unrestrained increase of governmental tyranny while our economy teeters on the brink, may the Conservative wisely abandon his subjective (unreal) worldview in favor of the objective reality found in Almighty God and His Word!

Only Almighty God has the remedies and solutions to get us through time and bring us safely into eternity future! Our greatest need is not world peace but peace with Almighty God our Creator and Sustainer (Isaiah 9:6; Rom. 5:1; Eph. 2:14). Our greatest need is not to possess morally conservative values, but to own the absolute righteousness (godly perfection) that Almighty God provides to His fallen creation, i.e., to all mankind (Rom. 5:12-19; 6:23; 10:4).

It is only when a man or woman, boy or girl dares to abandon their subjective, temporal perspective and places their faith in Almighty God and His saving grace, that Almighty God delivers that individual from the oppressive confines of this sinful, time-bound world. Time is but the womb of eternity. Eternity is where we will abide forever.

May I ask you this very personal question? Do you know the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, a necessary fact prescribed in Holy Scripture? Almighty God so loved you and me that He sent His Son Jesus Christ to die for your sins and mine; that He might deliver us from this present evil world and grant us forgiveness, pardon and eternal life (Gal. 1:4; John 3:16-17)!

My friend, that is what this life, our temporal existence, is all about! It's that simple: To know and to worship God in Spirit and in Truth, and to enjoy Him for evermore (John 4:24; 17:3).

May it be your all-wise decision to place your soul's trust in Christ today. I can promise you this of a surety - that you will never be the same!

Today our nation and the world in which we live in are looking more and more for a “savior-messiah” to deliver us from the many crises that engulf our present world. When the masses are fearful and uncertain, that is when they are the most open to deception and most susceptible to relinquishing their personal freedoms to anyone who promises deliverance from their dire situations. History has testified to this countless times. The Lord Jesus Christ knew this and gave countless warnings to his own and to the world. Be not deceived! (Matt 24:4; Luke 21:8; Mark 13:5-6; 2 Thess. 2:3-4)

The ever-growing global crisis at hand is due to the outworking of the godless secular ideologies which reject the Creator’s blueprint and design for humanity which is found in God’s Word, the Bible. (Romans 1:18-32, Gal. 6:7, 8)

Our current President, with his hollow promises and well sounding phrases of change and hope, has given the masses something to believe in. Warning! Do not drink the Kool-Aid! Though there is no real substance or reality in his promises, multitudes have taken them hook, line and sinker. Humanity always needs a leader, a guide, a shepherd to take care of them and to meet their needs (Isaiah 53:6; Romans 3:10-18). When Almighty God is rejected, all that is left is finite fallen man to meet their needs (Jer. 17:5). America has chosen Barak Obama to be their “need-meeter.”

The reality of the situation is that the majority of those who voted for Obama have no clue of what his ideological background and political inclinations are/ were. It didn’t even matter. Emotions and feeling good have taken the place of common sense and reality.

Our current President is a radical Leftist with good intentions. His history, voting record and current positions have revealed to those who want to know just who he is. The Lord Jesus stated, “You shall know them by their fruits” (Matt 7:16).

Obama was trying to sell himself as a centrist. However, this illusion and smoke-screen have been removed to reveal his true goals and agenda. He and the Democratic leadership are seeking to radically transform this nation into a National Secular Socialist State. His goal and the goal of the new Democratic-Socialistic Leftist-Party – is to grow government and seize more and more power to further their leftist leanings. There is nothing in this administration that reflects the ideals of our Founding Fathers and our godly heritage. Obama and the Dem’s seek to solidify their power base and to establish themselves with a permanent place of power in the United States of America.

The War Room

Obama and the Democrats have an endless supply of minions and resources on hand to protest and secure their power base and character.

· They posses a powerful Mainstream Liberal Secular Media. Internet, 24/7 Cable News Outlets, Newspapers, Magazines, Hollywood culture, not just on a national level but on a global one as well. They are able to slander, destroy, promote, protect and insulate themselves from any fallout or criticism.

· They posses a well-oiled grassroots organization and internet task force to go after, clog up and distort any opposition to their agenda.

· They posses a government filled up with bureaucratic leftist and secularist in key Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches of government – on local, state and national levels.

· Because of our tainted history of slavery in the US, Obama and his minions can play the race card against any critic of his policies and agenda. This also can be played to incite the rage of the masses. To scoffers in our midst -To disagree with one’s leftist socialistic ideologies and agenda is not racist. Obama has absolutely insulated himself with this tactic.

· An apathetic brainwashed public (both great and small) that is subjective, “relative” in reason and totally dependent due to generations of social policies and programs. This also pertains to the aristocratic narcissists upbringing of the elite.

With this arsenal and countless resources at their disposal, the Leftist Democrats in power are well-protected and insulated from any opposition to their power base.

From FDR to LBJ to President Bush our nation has been growing government at an alarming rate. The nation’s citizens have been cooking like a frog and have been brought subtly along to the current position of our nation. This “leftward shift” has set the stage for our first Leftist President and Leftist-controlled Congress in US history.

What’s Behind It All
What is truly behind all of this leftward movement in our nation? God’s Word has the answer!

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places (Eph 6:12).

There is at present a great hatred of the United States of America and its Judean-Christian heritage and moral values. Not just globally but by the Leftist leadership in the national and state municipalities of America. Lucifer (i.e, Satan) knows that America must be destroyed and removed from the world stage if he is ever going to move forward his master plan in these last days. He has placed his minions in key positions of power to achieve this end.

For the past 400 years America has been a hope to all the oppressed citizens of the world’s nations. America has been a dam holding back the great evil aggressors of Marxist Europe, Nazi Germany, Imperialist Japan, Soviet and Chinese Communism, Islamic Fascism, Terrorism etc. This Dam is slowly fracturing from within and is about to burst. Once the dam has burst and is removed, what will be left to stop the torrential flow of the world nations’ desire for anti-Semitism, human oppression and global genocide? How about……….nothing! It will take the Battle of Armageddon and the glorious return of Jesus Christ to decimate this flood (Daniel 2:44-45; 7:13-14). Like it or not, America has been a major contributor in the world for restraining evil bents and intents and the outworkings of the wicked devices of men for well over 200 years.

Once America’s heritage and restraint is removed, nothing will be left to stop Lucifer’s plan for destroying Israel and the promises that Almighty God has made for the blessing of nations of the world through her. (Zechariah 14:9,16; Romans 11:11-12). (Link to Chart)

Obama and fallen humanity are only pawns in the long-raging war of the ages: Satan and his rebellion against his Creator - Almighty God - which will shortly be coming to a grand conclusion.
It is our sincerest desire and earnest prayer that Barak Obama comes to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12; Romans 10:9-11). We here at the I. F. Blog want only the highest and best for him and will pray to that end. The highest and best for our new President is none other than a saving relationship to his Creator, Almighty God, and His will and way for his life.

Prince Charles and His Green Islamo-Fascist Paupers

On June 9th, Prince Charles delivered a stunning speech to the Center for Islamic Studies at Oxford wherein he called for a western pantheistic religious synthesis with Islam to help save the world from the impending environmental catastrophe looming on the apocalyptic horizon. Shockingly, Prince Charles strongly believes that Islam can play a critical role in bringing back ancient religious traditions that will promote a much needed check on western man’s unbridled enthusiasm for capitalism, power and money where science has been inappropriately exploited by commerce since the Industrial Revolution. Prince Charles presumes that such a course of action will return the western world back to a more reverent attitude toward Nature. Tracing the wedding between science and capitalism to Galileo and his mechanistic view of the natural world, Prince Charles asserted that such views has brought modern civilization to the precipice of an environmental apocalypse, especially as the Third World tries to catch up. Mother Nature has become objectified as an “it,” and hence exploited as such. He then concluded his speech by quoting an old saying from Islamic nomads, “the best of all Mosques is Nature herself.”

Although Prince Charles did briefly cite from the book of Genesis in the middle of his speech and appealed to Christian apologists G.K. Chesterton and C.S. Lewis toward the end, his lecture was far from a Christian one. Not only did he mix up pantheism with classic Judeo-Christian theism, but also with Islamic monotheism as well. As the future heir of the Head of the Church of England, this may not bode well for the future of Anglicanism. Furthermore, his blending of pantheism with theism is much more an issue of his own wishful thinking than it is something that can be theologically defended with intellectual integrity.

Pantheism is the belief that God is everything. The Greek word ‘pan’ means ‘every’ and ‘theism’ means belief in ‘God.’ Built on pagan foundations, pantheism stands in sharp contrast to Judeo-Christian theism precisely because the Bible unabashedly asserts that God is the transcendent Creator of the universe. This means that God stands outside the universe. He is thus completely independent of His creation, all of which is perfectly illustrated in Genesis 1 where He speaks the entire universe into existence through His all-powerful Word. God’s existence is thus not contingent upon the universe, but rather the universe is contingent upon Him. While it is true that since the God of the Bible also declares Himself to be omnipresent, or everywhere at once, this suggests that He also lives immanently within the world. However, this is not be confused with pantheism where God is not only reduced to the level of Nature, but in fact is a part of Nature. In pantheism, God is the universe, or Nature Herself. In other words, pantheism is a form of Nature worship where Nature is worshiped as god, usually in the name of Mother Earth or “Gaia.”

As such, Prince Charles’s reference to Genesis was thus extremely brief, reducing Adam and Eve to mere environmental conservationists whose primary job was to protect the garden of Eden for future generations. Only a modern environmentalist could possibly understand the opening chapters of Genesis in this way. He conveniently ignored the most salient point in Genesis about man, i.e., that although Adam is formed from the soil of the earth, he was also made in the image of God (Gen 1:26-28). This marks off Adam from the rest of creation (Gen 1-2; Psalm 8). Genesis clearly teaches that this makes Adam and Eve the king and queen of the earth (Gen 1:26-31), something which modern environmentalists have been bristling at for some 200 years now. To add insult to injury, God then commands Adam and Eve to be fruitful and multiply and subdue the earth (Gen 1:28). Such commands are an absolute anathema to the modern green movement as it constantly obsesses over human population growth and sustainable development, always trying to force people to reduce their human footprint. What’s more is that this Genesis mandate has never been rescinded.

Neither is it a coincidence that original scientists like Galileo, Copernicus, Kepler, and Newton were all Christian theists. Contrary to popular opinion these days, their brand of science was a continuation of the Genesis mandate, something which Francis Bacon certainly recognized when he coined the phrase, “knowledge is power.” By this, he specifically meant power over nature, something which Prince Charles criticizes throughout his lecture. It must also be remembered that Copernicus, Kepler and Galileo challenged the semi-pantheistic Aristotelian view of the universe, not the biblical one, something which is almost always completely misunderstood and misrepresented with regard to the Copernican revolution. The Catholic scholastics of the Middle Ages gave too much deference to Aristotle, which has unfairly given Christianity a bad reputation in the scientific community. Strangely, it is this pantheistic Greek ‘science’ that Prince Charles wishes to return to when he criticizes modern science for being too mechanistic and too beholden to capitalistic consumerism. What he also completely fails to realize is that science in the hands of progressive socialistic engineers with a government whip has been far more brutal to people than anything free market capitalism has ever tried.

The Genesis mandate was designed by God for Adam and Eve to convert the wilderness into a garden through work, marriage and procreation (Gen 1-2). The garden of Eden was in fact their model or pattern to follow. In Genesis 2, God planted a garden right in front of Adam’s eyes to show him the difference between the wilderness and the garden. The wilderness has thus never been the divine ideal in the Bible, even as far back as Genesis 1. Even ancient Israel after the Exodus from the house of slavery in Egypt continued the Genesis mandate. The Conquest of Joshua was specifically intended to turn the promised land of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob into beautiful privately owned farms parceled out to each Hebrew family for the glory of God. This was something that the ‘green’ nature worshipers of Canaan were not doing. In fact, after the Conquest, Israel often found themselves completely seduced by the Canaanite Baal nature worship practices that surrounded them on all sides. The Old Testament time and time again declares that the reason why the divided kingdom of Israel was subjected to its respective captivities into both Assyria (722 BC) and Babylon (606-586 BC) was precisely because of their Baal nature worship (2 Kings 14:28-17:18; Hosea; Jeremiah 19:1-15).

As such, even more troublesome for Prince Charles is that after Adam and Eve fell into sin, the distance between the environmental and Judeo-Christian worldviews sharpens even more. Adam and Eve were subsequently banished from the garden paradise that God created for them (Gen 3:24). Harmony between man and nature is henceforth forbidden – and this by the edict of God. In fact, the Lord purposefully frustrated nature to frustrate and discipline man in his sin (Gen 3:17-19; Rom 8:20-22). Still more troublesome is that the Lord then shockingly introduced animal sacrifice to cover their shameful nakedness in sin (Gen 3:21; 4:4; Lev 1:1-5). Ritual animal sacrifice was thus inaugurated to teach Adam and Eve about the serious consequences of sin, i.e., death. Redemption must therefore be accomplished through a sacrificial substitute to die in the place of the sinful worshiper, all looking forward to the ultimate sacrifice of the Messiah on the cross (John 1:29; 10:1-17). In other words, in the brave new world of sin, nature is sacrificed for man, not man for nature. This hard lesson was quickly rejected by Cain (Gen 4:1-16). His ‘green’ gifts were outright rejected by God, but Abel’s sacrificial lamb was accepted. At this, Cain becomes extremely angry and kills his brother. Thus environmentalism was at the heart of the first murder in human history. Cain did not appreciate the fact that the ground from which he offered his green offering to God was in fact cursed.

As a deep ecologist, it is not likely that Prince Charles is unaware of this biblical albatross. He thus had to go elsewhere to find a spirituality that is more compatible with environmentalism. At this particular juncture, Prince Charles goes to the Muslims rather than to Brahmanism, Hinduism, Buddhism and the like. He points out that the Koran repeatedly “describes the natural world as the handiwork of a unitary benevolent power. It very explicitly describes Nature as possessing an ‘intelligibility’ and that there is no separation between the natural world and God. It offers a completely integrated view of the Universe where religion and science, mind and matter are all part of one living, conscious whole. We are therefore finite beings contained by an infinitude, and each of us is a microcosm of the whole. This suggests to me that Nature is a knowing partner, never a mindless slave to humanity, and we are Her tenants, God’s guests for all too short a time.” In the mind of Prince Charles, therefore, Islam and western pantheism thus have much in common.

Fretting over Nature’s finite resources by using Malthusian math, which has been completely discredited for over 200 years now, Prince Charles warned everyone present that “we are living beyond our means, already consuming the Earth’s capital resources faster than she can replenish them.” Throughout the speech, he often refers to what he calls the “ever widening division we are seeing in so many ways between humanity and Nature.” He also parroted the typical environmental obsession that the planet’s “life support systems are now struggling to cope under the strain of global industrialization.” Even more typical, he tied together the current financial crisis with the looming environmental crisis, which he believes reflects an “inner crisis of the soul.” He then sermonized that the resolution to this great crisis cannot consist of better green technology, but a return to western pantheistic religious traditions that even stretches farther east to ancient Islam, “the traditional way of life within Islam is very clear about the center that holds relationships together. From what I know of its core teachings and commentaries, the important principle we must keep in mind is that there are limits to the abundance of Nature. These are not arbitrary limits, they are limits imposed by God and, as such, if my understanding of the Koran is correct, Muslims are commanded not to transgress them.” Here Prince Charles makes Islam’s traditions perfectly consistent with the modern environmental drive to force sustainable development upon the western civilized world.

Here, by joining together environmentalism and western pantheism with Islam, Prince Charles gets himself into all manner of troubles compounded by ten. The last time the green movement became involved with a group as Anti-Semitic as Islam was in Nazi Germany. At a time when more than a few environmental historians have been forced to write some books to try to downplay the historical connections between Nazism and the early German green movement, Prince Charles opens up Pandora’s Avatar box all over again.

To the surprise of many, Nazism was a green movement in some important, fundamental ways. Its god was a western pantheistic god of Nature whose totalitarian will cannot be overcome as many Jews, Christians, liberals, and communists falsely presume. Herein lies the Nazi hatred for both capitalism and communism. Its Anti-Semitic racism and love for biology was rooted in the Social Darwinian ecology of Ernst Haeckel. Its holistic nationalism and geopolitics was grounded in the environmental indigenous ideas of Goethe, Humboldt and Arndt. Its Germanic green socialism was derived from Riehl, the father of sustainable development and public forestlands. Its romantic “blood and soil” agrarian pipe dream was borrowed from the nature loving Monist League. The Nazi love for animals was acquired from Arthur Schopenhauer, the Anti-Semitic guru of environmental ethics and animal rights who blamed Genesis 1 and Judaism for what he calls the “odor of the Jews,” i.e., animal cruelty, “the fault lies with the Jewish view that regards animals as something manufactured for man’s use.” Hitler could quote Schopenhauer verbatim. Schopenhauer was Hitler’s favorite philosopher. It was thus no coincidence that the first Anti-Semitic measure that was passed in Nazi Germany in 1933 was an animal rights law. That the Jews would ultimately find themselves stuffed in cattle cars and sent off to concentration camps set up like stockyards, is thus perhaps not so curious. Hitler brought to fruition Schopenhauer’s great wish that the “Jewish view of the animals world must, on account of its immorality, be expelled from Europe.” The end result of Nazi Germany was a ghastly green sacrifice of the so-called ‘Eternal Jew’ who tried to live above nature through capitalism in the west, and communism in the east.

Finally, Nazism’s wild, artistic romanticism was elicited from Richard Wagner, the famous opera composer who hated the Jews for commercializing art. Wagner also absorbed the Anti-Semitic environmentalism of both Schopenhauer and Haeckel into his life as well. As such, when Hitler once remarked that “whoever wishes to comprehend National Socialism must first know Richard Wagner,” this certainly included a strong respect for romantic green ideas, racial and otherwise. Hitler even attributed his vegetarianism to Richard Wagner. Indeed, on November 11, 1941, right as the Germany Army was within striking distance of the gates of Moscow, Hitler trumpeted, “but there is one thing I can predict to eaters of meat, that the world of the future will be vegetarian.”

Eco-fascism is thus no metaphor. Even Greenpeace’s founder, Patrick Moore, who left the group because of their increasingly extremist views, has warned of a coming eco-fascism “where the planetary police would answer to no one but Mother Nature herself.” However, it is one thing to call someone an eco-Nazi using metaphors, but quite another to discover that the Nazis had incorporated a green agenda into their political policymaking as well. For obvious reasons, putting these two things together is exactly what modern environmentalists do not want. When such a label begins to match its history at some important junctures, it becomes much more explosive, and the bringing together of environmentalism with Islam will not dispel the strong suspicion that the modern green movement wreaks of fascism. It only injects much more octane into an already highly volatile atmosphere.
